When thoughts accuse the soul in darkness,
the Lion speaks:
“It is written.”
The wilderness heard that voice.
The demons trembled before it.
Hell itself could not overcome it.
For Truth cuts deeper than temptation.
And the soul who clings to Christ
learns slowly to battle likewise —
not with pride,
not with rage,
not with the strength of the flesh,
but with prayer, endurance, tears, and the Word of God.
The Lion fights within the heart.
He enters the hidden warfare,
the secret wounds unseen by men,
the silent wars of the mind,
the exhaustion of resisting sin,
the crucifixion of self.
And there within the soul
His voice still echoes:
“Be strong in the Lord.”
Not strong in self.
Not strong in emotion.
But strong in Him.
For the bleeding Saviour
is the conquering Lion.
The wounded face
is the victorious King.
And every scar borne with Christ
becomes a testimony
that darkness did not prevail.
The Lion Within:
The Lion Who Bled
The Lion stood within the battle,
yet bore the face of wounded Man.
His eyes carried both fire and sorrow,
His brow both kingship and blood.
The sword stood between the two mysteries —
the suffering Christ
and the conquering Lion.
Not divided,
but revealed.
For the Lion of Judah conquers
not by escaping wounds,
but by entering them.
He roars against darkness,
yet bleeds for the fallen.
He tears apart the gates of death,
yet stretches His hands upon the Cross.
The enemy battles with whispers,
with fear,
with memory,
with temptation hidden within thought.
But the Lion answers with Truth.
For the sword of Christ
is not forged of earthly iron,
but of the living Word of God.
When satan speaks despair,
Scripture becomes flame.
When passions rise like storms,
the Word stands like a rock.
