Saint Mary and Archangel Monastery for Nuns at Kooralbyn was established in October 2016.

On 31 October, 2016 His Grace Bishop Daniel Abbot of Saint Shenouda the Archmandrite Monastery at Putty, Sydney prayed the initial Divine Liturgy blessing the monastery. In attendance also were the Very Rev. Father Moussa El-Antouny, the Very Rev. Father Mettaos Wahba and the late departed Rev. Father Bishoy Wassef from Queensland.

On 26 April 2017 His Grace Bishop Daniel, Bishop of the Diocese of Sydney, New South Wales, Queensland, Northern Territory and all East Asia blessed the monastery by his visit, praying the Divine Liturgy and consecrating two icons. One of our Lord Jesus Christ and the other for the Mother of God, Saint Mary that were placed on the iconstasis.
